Reputation through Information

MAS South East at Manufacturing Summit [12/9/2008]

As a response to the current global economic slowdown, Works Management is planning a campaign to help boost UK manufacturing. Its readers say they’re under pressure from increasing fuel, energy, raw materials and commodity costs – all very real issues which are having a serious affect on UK manufacturing. Works Management wants to find out just how much pressure, and then set about doing something to help ease it.

A full report of the findings of new research being undertaken among readers will be discussed at the Summit, chaired by Nick Brayshaw, Chairman of UK Manufacturing, Barclays Bank.

The outcomes will be analysed, and discussed in the company of industry experts, including David Caddle, MAS South East Principal Specialist, Lord Razzall, Liberal Democrat Spokesperson on Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform in the House of Lords, Charles Hendry MP, Shadow Minister for Energy and Industry (Conservative), Alan Wood, Chairman, Siemens and Jim Butler, Head of Strategy, EDF Energy.

David aims to raise awareness of the current issues facing manufacturers in the South East and how the region needs to change to prepare itself for a strong and sustainable future, against a backdrop of economic downtown, increasing global prices and uncertain demand.
