Groundwork Solent
New Venture to improve skills and the environment
10th February 2012A new venture has been launched by two charities, Groundwork Solent and Wheatsheaf Trust, to provide grounds maintenance services across Hampshire while improving the life-chances of local people.
Green Insight, based in Southampton and Gosport, will be working with private and public sector organisations to maintain green spaces and undertake small building projects …but unlike other companies its workforce will include both seasoned professionals and unemployed people. The aim is to deliver a professional service while helping members of the community learn new skills that will improve their long-term employment prospects.
As Green Insight Business Sales Manager, Tim Davies explains: “First and foremost, this is a business set up to provide a high quality grounds maintenance service to local businesses and public sector organisations…but it does also fulfil an important role by offering employment, training and valuable work-life skills to local people. All profits made are also returned to the charities, so our customers know that they are not only getting a professional service they are also putting something back into community life.”
Green Insight is led by experienced professionals who take an environmentally-conscious approach to delivering good quality, cost-effective grounds maintenance and landscaping services to companies, local authorities, developers, housing associations, schools and hospitals. The company cares for gardens, parks, urban green spaces, trees and plants, as well undertaking small scale building works, such as footpath construction, gates, fencing and sign installation.
