South East winners announced in the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards 2011

Joseph Miller, who works for Drallim Industries Limited, has been announced as the winner of the EEF South East Region Outstanding Achievement by a Final Year Apprentice Award, sponsored by EAL, in a ceremony held at Mercedes Benz World in Surrey.

Miller won the award for playing such an active role in key projects for Drallim Industries and through his input, company performance has improved and significant cost-savings made. He is now on track to be part of the Senior Management Team in the near future.

The annual awards are hosted by EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, and recognise excellence in enterprise, innovation, environmental performance and skills development among UK manufacturers.

Jim Davison, South East Region Director for EEF, commented: “Manufacturing in the South East is now so important as an economic driver for the UK with over 45,000 manufacturing businesses contributing £45billion to the UK economy. It is very important that the industry develops and nurtures young talent who, like Joseph, have made a valuable contribution to their companies while developing their own skills. Congratulations to Joseph on this great achievement ”
