King's Lynn company receives national accolade
30th January 2012Foster Refrigerator (UK) Limited has been named runner-up in the Skills & Training Award category of the national EEF Future Manufacturing Awards 2011 in a prestigious awards ceremony in London.
The success of the King’s Lynn, Norfolk-based company, which manufactures commercial refrigeration for public and private sector industries, confirms its position as one of the top performing manufacturers in the country. The company won the Environmental Efficiency Award at last year’s national final.
The annual awards are hosted by EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, and recognise excellence in enterprise, innovation, environmental performance and skills development among UK manufacturers.
Foster Refrigerator gained success in the Skills & Training Awards category sponsored by Westfield Health, for its passion, commitment and investment in the development, empowerment and education of its staff. The judges felt that the company demonstrated how skills and training can have a clear, tangible impact on a business and its direction, and how it can also create a positive culture in which to harness talent and encourage idea generation.
Chris Playford, Marketing & Development Director at Foster Refrigerator commented: ” This award reflects the efforts made by the staff at Foster to further their own personal development and create a culture of continuous improvement. Foster Refrigerator reached the national final, held at a glittering Gala Dinner at Plaisterers’ Hall , Old London Wall, by winning its category in the EEF South East regional competition.
