Jablite wins at EEF national awards

30th January 2012

Jablite Limited has been named as the winner of the Climate Change Opportunity Awards category of the national EEF Future Manufacturing Awards 2011

Jablite Limited has been named as the winner of the Climate Change Opportunity Awards category of the national EEF Future Manufacturing Awards 2011in a prestigious awards ceremony in London.

The success of the Belvedere-based company, which manufactures insulation products, confirms its position as one of the top performing manufacturers in the country.

The annual awards are hosted by EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, and recognise excellence in enterprise, innovation, environmental performance and skills development among UK manufacturers.

Jablite won the Climate Change Opportunity Award sponsored by ENER-G, for developing the Jablite Dynamic insulation products, which not only stop heat escaping from a building, but also capture any escaping heat and re-direct it back into the building. The products reduce the amount of energy used to heat a home by almost 40%. The judges were impressed by the way the company used innovation to encourage a change in the marketplace and considered the project to be very well managed, establishing all the relevant linkages with government, standards bodies and key stakeholders.

Cedric Rodrigues, Divisional Director for ENER-G, environmental partner to the EEF, said: “We salute the achievements of Jablite and the example they have set in developing innovative new products with such impressive carbon saving potential. Judging by the high standard of entries this year, the future of sustainable manufacturing is in great hands.”

Bridget Bouch, PR Manager for Jablite responded saying: “We are delighted to win this award and the success of Jablite Dynamic insulation products has inspired our internal innovations process. We are continually seeking to develop new products and improve our existing product range.”

Jim Davison, South East Region Director for EEF, added:  “Congratulations to Jablite on their success at the National Finals. It’s a real feather in the cap of the South East manufacturing sector and it clearly illustrates the value of supporting a sector made up of 45,000 businesses contributing £45billion to the UK economy.”

Jablite reached the National Final, held at a glittering Gala Dinner at Plaisterers’ Hall , Old London Wall, by winning its category in the EEF South East regional competition.
