South East winners announced in the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards 2011

Charles Beadle, who works for Marshall Aerospace as a trainee electrical/avionics engineer, has been announced as the winner of the EEF South East Region Outstanding Achievement by a First Year Apprentice Award, sponsored by EAL, in a ceremony held at Mercedes Benz World in Surrey.

Beadle won the award for his sound technical knowledge and excellent practical and academic skills. He is an exceptional communicator and has proved to be an excellent team player in his first year.

The annual awards are hosted by EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, and recognise excellence in enterprise, innovation, environmental performance and skills development among UK manufacturers.

Jim Davison, South East Region Director for EEF, commented: “Manufacturing in the South East is now so important as an economic driver for the UK with over 45,000 manufacturing businesses contributing £45billion to the UK economy. It is very important that the industry develops and nurtures young talent who, like Charles, have made a valuable contribution to their companies while developing their own skills. Congratulations to Charles on this great achievement ”
